Sustainable Transport Solutions

Reducing carbon emissions is a major priority for the logistics sector. Businesses across supply chains are seeking transport partners that can support more sustainable operations.

McCulla Ireland has invested in sustainable transport solutions designed to reduce emissions while maintaining reliable logistics services across Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe.

These initiatives include a fleet of biomethane-powered trucks and the development of alternative fuel technologies to support lower-emission transport operations.

Biomethane Powered Fleet

A key element of McCulla’s sustainability strategy is the use of biomethane as a renewable transport fuel.

The company operates a growing fleet of trucks powered by biomethane gas produced from food waste at the Alternity anaerobic digestion facility.

Biomethane-powered vehicles can reduce carbon emissions by approximately 93 percent compared with conventional diesel trucks while also producing lower levels of air pollutants.

This renewable fuel allows transport operations to operate with significantly reduced environmental impact.

Alternative Fuel Technologies

While biomethane is a core part of the company’s sustainability strategy, McCulla is also exploring additional alternative fuel technologies.

These include vehicles powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which can provide significant reductions in carbon emissions compared with traditional diesel.

Using a range of lower-emission fuels allows logistics operations to adapt to different routes and infrastructure requirements while continuing to reduce environmental impact.

Sustainable Logistics Operations

Sustainable transport solutions are most effective when integrated across the entire supply chain.

By combining renewable fuel vehicles, food waste recovery and efficient logistics operations, McCulla Ireland supports more environmentally responsible supply chains.

These initiatives allow businesses to reduce the carbon footprint of their logistics operations while maintaining reliable delivery performance.
